We consider ourselves to have only dipped our toe into urban backyard farming. We maintain a very small garden, a single colony of honeybees, and a small flock of hens. Growing your own food can be one of the best ways to eat a healthy, local diet. While we enjoy this aspect of localism, we have decided that managing a small amount of livestock and a minimal garden is more suited to our lifestyle than a more intensive urban growing operation. We have chosen to only grow and raise a few things that make us happy and we get the rest from our hard working, local farmers.
